forms of pilates practice
There are two main forms of Pilates practice: matwork (floor) Pilates and equipment Pilates.
Matwork Classes (1 teacher : 6 clients)
In a matwork class we focus on developing balance through the body, addressing general needs of the group including mobilising all joints, creating a stable centre, increasing strength as well as developing better balance and coordination. Matwork classes are ideal way of body conditioning, using your own body weight, on weekly basis, by itself or as a support for other practices. |
Matwork Pilates practice
Since the March 2020 lockdown and theindustry move to on-line option you can now split matwork classes into types of practice: - on site classes (not during lockdowns) - live streaming classes - access to recording of the above classes - on demand, pre-recorded, free classes |
You can join matwork class outright but keep in mind that matwork classes are not recommend for people with injuries that may need individual attention.
Equipment Classes (1 teacher : 4 clients)
Equipment based classes are great for: dealing with a specific problem or injury (rehabilitation). We happily work along and with an osteopath, physiotherapist and other medical professionals to reach the best and fastest results for our clients. Equipment Pilates will help you: - train for a sport event - prepare pre and post surgery - provide support during pre and postnatal period - each of our special populations like seniors, children, teens carry certain challenges that can be supported with Pilates - Equipment Pilates is also an indispensable tool in management of conditions like osteoporosis, scoliosis, arthritis, osteoarthritis, lower back injuries, conditions of the nervous system, and many others. Equipment classes are run in small groups of 4 plus 1 teacher and programs are individually tailored to client needs. |
Private and Semi-Private Sessions
(1 teacher : 1 client) Private sessions are probably the fastest way to achieving your Pilates goals. Having 121 attention from your teacher ensures that you get the most out of your practice in a shorter time. If you want to share your session with a friend or a family member (1 teacher : 2 clients) please ask for a semi-private sessions. |
In order to join Equipment Pilates you need to attend a private induction session.
Exception maybe applied to clients with 6 or more months of recent and regular Matwork Pilates practice. Clients with rehabilitation plan may need more private practice before being able to join classes.
